R33 loses acceleration battle against a mobility scooter?! 電動車椅子に負けたR33スカイライン？！

Yesterday, we featured a kick-ass R33 GT-Ron facebook. But today, an R33 Skyline’s ass was kicked by… a mobility scooter?! The buys at Garage Insanity have built something very unique. Their goal was to create the world’s fastest mobility scooter and they are now looking forward to verifying the claim with the Guinness Book of Records on August 31.

Powering this highly modded mobility scooter is a 600cc engine from Suzuki GSX-600F motorbike, with Garage Insanity having recorded a super impressive 13.281 second 1/4 mile run at 163.8 km/h.

Had it been an R33 GT-R, instead of GTS-T, things might have been a bit different.

昨日、ロンドンで撮影されたムチャクチャカッコ良いR33 GT-RをFacebookでご紹介しました。今日は・・・、R33スカイラインの敗北シーンです。しかも何に負けたって・・・、電動車椅子にです（笑）。Garage Infinityというチームがあるんですが、世界最速電動車椅子を作ろうと盛り上がっているんです。しかも、8月31日にはギネス記録に挑戦するのだとか。

っで、この車椅子ですがモーターではなくスズキGSX-600Fの600ccエンジンを搭載し、0-400m加速は13.281秒（163.8km/hをマーク）という実力の持ち主なんです。いやはや、バカげているかもしれませんが、大の大人がこういう真面目にバカをやると面白いですねぇ。

まっ、R33GT-Rであったなら、結果は違っていたでしょうけど（笑）。

D&S Night 2013, as featured, has taken place last week at Sendai Highland Circuit. There were over 150 participants and fair bit of crowd despite the event taking place in the night. Japanese drag racing is back on track.

昨夜、仙台ハイランドで開催された年にいち度のナイタードラッグイベント『D&Sナイト2013』。150台近い車両が参加し、ギャラリーもたくさんいて、かなり盛り上がった！興奮が冷めないうちにってことで、MOVIEが完成!!日本のドラッグレースが完全復活です。

When you hear of Australia, you’d naturally think of koala bears, Opera House, Habour Bridge but there is a famous car race as well. Bathurst is one of the most famous races in Australia.

For Australian race car fans, their favorites have always been Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore. Many of the fans disliked how invincible R32 has been even though it was a new comer in the Australian race scenes. In 1992, R32 won the race as it was cancelled after a heavy rain.

This is what happened.

オーストラリアといえばコアラ、オペラハウス、ハーバーブリッジかもしれませんけど、実はレースだって熱いんです。最も熱いのはバサーストでしょう。高低差のキツイサーキットで、耐久レースはかなり人気が高いです。

オーストラリアといえばフォード・ファルコン、ホールデン・コモドアが人気なんですが、新参者であったスカイラインGT-R（R32）の圧勝ぶりは既存ファンにとって面白いものではありあせんでした。っで、1992年のバサーストでは大雨でレースが中断となり、暫定1位がそのまま優勝。それがR32だったんです。

表彰台でこれほどのブーイングは珍しいですし、ドライバーのぶち切れぶりもユニーク（笑）。

「オーストラリアのレースファンがこんなにマナーが悪いなんて信じられないし、オレのレースキャリアでも記憶に残るよ。お前らはクソ野郎どもだ！」って生放送の勝利者インタビューで答えるほどですから・・・。当時、テレビでこのレースを見ていた筆者、21年経った今でも鮮明に覚えています。

Total 24hours of Spa will be held from 27th July! 今年のスパ24時間は7月27日、28日

With no less than 66 GT cars lined up on the grid in 2012, the Total 24 Hours of Spa undoubtedly deserves the title of biggest race in the world, exclusively dedicated to GT cars. This year, at least 70 cars representing 9 different manufacturers will fight for the victory with Porsche, Ferrari, Audi, Lamborghini, Mercedes, BMW, McLaren, Nissan and Aston Martin.

Don’t miss the event on the 27 and 28 July at Spa-Francorchamps.

今年で65回目の開催となるスパ・フランコルシャン24時間耐久レース。今年は7月27-28日です。70台以上のGTカーがバトルを繰り広げ、9つのメーカー（ポルシェ、フェラーリ、アウディ、ランボルギーニ、メルセデス・ベンツ、BMW、マクラーレン、日産、そしてアストンマーティン）の車両が参戦する見込みです。

1991年、日産スカイラインGT-Rが勝ったことはあるんですけど、実はR35・・・、まだ優勝はしていません。昨年のハイライト・・・、といってオフィシャルページで紹介されているんですけど・・・、24時間レースゆえに51分もあります（笑）。
