Nissan UK has introduced a new customer relatioship management programme called “eVision”. Nissan is introducing video-walkthroughs of vehicles to be shown to customers before work is performed. Basically it involves mechanics making a quick iPhone video of a customer car, pointing out what needs attention, then e-mailing said video to the customer for review before the work is approved. A “green-yellow-red” scale of repair-necessity will be included along with a cost estimate of the work.

Anyone who’s had a phone call from a mechanic telling you your brake pads/serpentine belt/flux capacitor is “looking pretty worn” would surely appreciate technology like this coming into the main stream. It’s also a win for honest mechanics, who could use this tool to debunk negative stereotypes about their revenue-generating practices.

Why Nissan hasn’t introduced this service in Japan, we have no idea…

R35 that carries a Chevrolet LS1 engine?!

I encountered a YouTube video featuring what it appears to be an R35 fitted with Chevrolet LS1 engine…

What? Who would be silly enough to throw away that awesome twin turbo V6, VR38DETT? Well, as it tunred out, the story is quite… mixed up. It’s Nissan, S15, Sylvia with LS1 engine that has been modified to look as an R35! Oh, Russia…

A new speed record for GT-R at UNLIMITED+500 Unlimited+500におけるGT-Rの記録更新

The 1,700hp+ Nissan GT-R Goliath by Switzer set a new top speed record in a 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) run for GT-Rs at the latest Moscow Unlimited 500+ racing event. According to the organizers, only two other vehicles have surpassed the 400km/h mark in a 1 mile run, a “Ford GT at 430km/h and a Chevrolet Camaro at 402km/h.

Switzer’s heavily modified, yet, street legal GT-R Goliath reached a speed of 402.23 km/h in 1 mile after just 22.602 seconds.

The Goliath was made for an unnamed client (likely from Russia) with Switzer stating the following about said car:

The car the client asked us to build had to be ‘for street use’, not just ‘street legal’. “The difference there is the difference between ‘comfortable’ and ‘tolerable’. He made it very clear that he expected this to be a ‘real car’ with full climate control, cruise control, sound system – all the amenities, in other words.

He also wanted the car to run a low 20-second ET at the Moscow Unlimited.

Nissan Patrol with modified R33 Skyline engine!

The guys from Bijou Motorsport have decided to fit an RB25GET from R33 Skyline into a Nissan Patrol(codenamed Y60 and built between 1987 and 1997)… Not much is known about the builder nor how it came to be, but the author of the videos tells us that the fourth generation Patrol had an engine transplant from a Nissan Skyline (probably the R33). We’re also not aware if the RB25DET engine is stock or not, but data shows that the 2.5-liter turbocharged straight-six produced from 245hp to 276hp (280PS), depending on the version. But it doesn’t sound bad.
Oh they, certainly, know how to have fun!

Well then, why do we not search for something else on YouTube, right? And we came across an R33 Skyline GT-R carrying 8.3V10 engine from Dodge Viper along with an R35 GT-R with… Lancer Evolution front bumper! lol

R33 Skyline GT-R with HEAT SENSITIVE PAINT?!

Having your car re-painted takes bit of courage as there is no turning back unless you keep re-painting. Over the recent years, drivers have been enjoying vinyl wraps as you can always rip it off and have the car back in original paint. Especially in used car market, original paint is usully an important factor. The vinyl wrapping became popular with its matte colors, chrome colors and the trend seems to be moving towards… brushed.

But that doesn’t stop paint shops to come up with something unique to catch people’s attention. What I encountered, recently, on YouTube is an R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R with… HEAT SENSITIVE PAINT!!! It comes from Auto Kandy, a paint shop located in the UK. Yes, that is just water being poured on the body, yet it’s completely altering the color of the car, from that brilliant orange to an oily black.

Our souces have informed us…on Nismo GT-R

I dislike this phrase, as it is so lame, but I’m going to use it anyway… “Our sources have informed us” that the time attack at Nurburgring for Nismo GT-R went superbly well. In fact, they have managed to beat all the previousl records held by R35. The time is yet to be revealed at Tokyo Motorshow in November but we heard some other interesting things regarding Nismo GT-R as well.

We cannot, unfortunately, confirm any of the information stated below and we hold no responsibilities for our misrepresentation…

1.Time attack was done by not only Sebastian Buemi but, apparently, Michael Krumm took part as well.
2.Target lap time was 7:10 and it was achieved by Michael Krumm.
3.Nismo will come in three, or less, different specifications just like R34’s S-tune, R-tune and Z-tune.
4.Nismo and Williams focused on aerodynamics of the car and have managed to increase downforce significantly, which led to the successful record beating lap time.

You may believe them, you may laugh them off as rumors. In a month time, truth shall prevail!

According to Autocar Nurburgring track insiders have reported that Nissan has booked exclusive use of the venue for its laps. The current fastest verified time for a Nissan GT-R at the circuit is 7m18.6sec, set by Toshio Suzuki in 2012. That is the ninth fastest time by a road-legal car at the circuit. Former Formula 1 driver Sébastien Buemi is posied to set a new lap record for the Nismo GT-R at the Nurburgring this week.
